School Council
At Craneswater Junior School we have an active School Council which helps to promote the school’s visions and values and also provides pupils with a voice to help develop and improve the school. Each year, the classes vote for two pupils to represent them in council meetings. A ‘School Councillor Job Description’ is used to identify pupils who effectively demonstrate the qualities and attitudes needed to be a successful School Councillor.
The Council meets every week to give opinions and share ideas which are then fed back to all pupils through Class Councils. One of the key roles of the School Council is to help develop the school’s code of conduct and anti-bullying policies. This ensures that these policies are appropriate and meaningful to all pupils in the school.
